How it works

Three things,
then nothing.

The website explains. The iPhone app does the work.

PhotoCocoon is a native iOS app. Background uploads, thermal state, Low Power Mode, and the real photo library only exist there. This site is the manual. It cannot back up a phone, and it does not create accounts.

1. Install on iPhone

Get PhotoCocoon on the phone that holds the library. Open it. Sign in with email. That is onboarding. There is no website signup, no password to forget, no second device required to start.

2. Allow full photo access

iOS will ask. Full Access is the honest answer. Limited Photos is a handful you picked — the rest never leave. You can fix that later in Settings → Privacy → Photos. See Allow full photo access.

3. Put the phone down

Join home Wi‑Fi. Plug in at night. Glance at the widget if you worry. New photos leave when the phone is calm. We only tap you if something is actually stuck.

Then, someday

A phone dies, gets stolen, or gets replaced. You sign in on the new one. The originals come home. That is restore. That is why backup ran at all.
